Kelvin Mackenzie told lies about dead people to sell newspapers. I know we should wring our hands and assume benign intent, but Kelvin Mackenzie told lies about dead people to sell newspapers. He’s not sorry. He’s never been sorry. He’s still chuckling and proud about how much he’s hated. Correctly hated. Because kelvin Mackenzie told lies about dead people to sell newspapers.

You can wring your hands and assume benign intent if you like. Poor kelvin was blindsided by his naive trust of the police. Poor Kelvin has been scapegoated for someone else’s errors. Poor Kelvin is just a decent newspaper man who made a mistake.

I don’t recall too much assumption of benign intent from the Sun that day. The facts, unsure as they were, were skewed into lies because of a single source, who made it up. Thousands of eye witnesses were ignored in favour of a work of fiction designed to blame the victims for what happened to them.

Kelvin Mackenzie told lies about dead people to sell newspapers. He still works for the Sun. He still pops up on television and on the radio as some kind of media expert. He even turned up on the BBC panel show “Would I Lie To You?” – what larks. Seeing as Kelvin Mackenzie told lies about dead people to sell newspapers.

Anyone ever working with him, or for him, or employing him, is tainted by that, and diminished by that. That he should escape unscathed, now we know the truth, is shameful.
